We’ve dreamed of becoming parents for the last 5 years, but our journey to grow our family has been filled with unexpected challenges. After a heartbreaking pregnancy loss in early 2024, we spent the next 20 months trying to conceive naturally, holding onto hope each month—only to face disappointment again and again.

In August 2025, we received Ami’s diagnosis: tubal factor infertility from unilateral hydrosalpinx and unilateral blockage in the other. It was a difficult truth to accept. One fallopian tube is inflamed and filled with fluid that is toxic to embryos, making it nearly impossible for a pregnancy to succeed naturally. Even with this diagnosis, we haven’t lost hope. Our doctor shared a clear and promising path forward through additional testing & Advanced Reproductive Technology: multiple egg retrievals to create healthy embryos, followed by surgery to remove Ami’s tubes. This will give those embryos the best possible chance at life.

We’re so grateful that our prognosis is hopeful—Ami has a good number of eggs, and Nile’s sperm are healthy and strong. But the financial reality is daunting. Each round of IVF, medications, Pre-genetic testing, embryo storage, and then surgery, before any transfers adds up quickly. With Ami’s age also a factor, we may need several retrievals before moving forward with surgery. We never imagined we’d have to ask for help like this, but the cost of building our family is more than we can shoulder alone.
